Modern style with a traditional theme, a triptych Perspex/acrylic recognition & awards board
Shirebrook Academy chose an acrylic triptych to display head pupils and annual award winners.
The 10mm thick material stands off the wall by 25mm using chrome plated solid brass fittings.
When we think of schools, academies are to most of us a contemporary educational concept and compared to timber
Perspex is still a contemporary material particulary considered in association with a school's honour boards.
This academy honours board utilises the ancient concept of the triptych and modern feel of acrylic material to combine them,
we hope, succesfully.
The central panel displays the names of head boys and head girls,
on either side, winners of the academy governors and principal's awards are acknowledged.
Reflective materials such as glass or Perspex are very awkward to photograph
in a way that you would see it in the flesh.
The images shown here are quite successful but the real thing, really is, much more
effective and visually pleasing than the images manage to convey.
